The world has many musicians who claim to be artists and artists who claim to be musicians. Jacksonville, Florida based Arthur “A.J.” Jones is one of the few who truly embodies both. Beginning in his preschool years, his musicianship has blossomed into a multi-instrumental accomplishment, encompassing drums, keys, bass and guitar, with his main instrumental focus currently being both keys and bass guitar. Those tools helped give direction to his artist mind, parlaying into his producing abilities that rival said musicianship.
Jones is a knowledgeable, creative and resourceful musician with eight years of professional experience. He has also played in performances with Fantasia Barrino, SWV, Tank, Crystal Aikens, Pj Morgan and Lil Mo, as well as contributing his skills on Bass for ‘Tye Tribbett – Live’. He is currently the bassist for Tamar Braxton and Xscape, and will be playing in their upcoming The Great Xscape Tour.
Jones has been quoted as saying, “If it feels good, then play it.” Great musicians are those who can reach people, who can make them feel something. Jones’ continued focus is to challenge himself to expand proficiency in all areas of music creativity and production, and further his ability to display his experience within the music industry, allowing him to reach people through the power of music.
